1. HOW? To install your system correctly

   Correct installation procedure:
   1. To place the system. The base unit should be placed at any convenient for user place. No frequency interference happens if there are several units are used simultaneously and placed very close each to other.
   2. Accessories. For the best communication range and quality, we recommend to use Linear Amplifier + Outdoor Antenna + Car Antenna (all except HT-3). So, it is Linear Amplifier DLW-20A should be placed next to Base unit, linked with Base unit through supplied cables. An Outdoor antenna should be attached with Booster through the supplied coaxial cables of different length.
   3. Outdoor Antenna. It is strongly recommended to mount it at the most high place of the building, where HT set is in use. For example, good locations are roof or window. But the most important point is to mount it at any highest place than near buildings. It means no barriers will be present for the signal sent from Base to H/S and vise versa. If this requirement is not mentioned while installation, it will be very difficult to overcome any all around berries, so it might cause low effectiveness of your communication.
   4. Booster. To be sure an Amplifier is working well, you can check out the indicator on left side of the device. It's red flashes while transmit and green - while the standby. For Car - in Booster CLW-20, please refer to the next page.
   5. REMEMBER. All connections should be screwed very tight. Please remember to check all of them while the system installation.
   6. Battery full charge. All batteries should be enough charged before usage. The battery power supplies enables H/S's good performance. No AA size batteries are supplying for Base unit, except adapters and rechargeable battery packs. Base works independently, no batteries are required. But in the case of power failure, AA size batteries can substitute power adapters for non-stop phone communication.
   7. For Car-in use application, we recommend to attach Car Antenna. Otherwise the metallic roof of a car reflects the incoming and outgoing signals, that decrease their effectiveness.
   Please follow the points we mentioned above and refer to User's manual too while installation.
   

2. HOW? To install your system correctly for Car - in applications
   For the first look at the content, please go to the picture as shown behind.
   1. To place the system. The base unit should be placed at any convenient for user place (at home, office etc). Handset unit uses for Cordless Car - in application only. Base unit is responsible for transmitting and receiving signals, to support the most convenient and cheapest long - range communication. Moreover, depending on Base unit Output power, it comes as power amplifier for Handset unit, that enables to strengthen the signal, admitted by it.
   2. Accessories. For the best communication range and its quality, we recommend to use Linear Amplifier (for Base and Car + Outdoor Antenna + Car Antenna (all except HT-3). So, it is Linear Amplifier DLW-20A should be placed next to Base unit, linked with Base through supplied cables. An Outdoor antenna should be attached with Booster through the supplied coaxial cables of different length. The signals sent out by the Base to Cordless Handset unit will be transmitting under power support of Booster and directed by radio antennas: from a building based an Outdoor antenna directly to Car antenna mounted on a car's roof.
   3. Car Antenna. It is strongly recommended to mount it on a car's roof. What the reason is? Metallic roof of every car causes big negative influence on the talking signal transmission. But having got a Car antenna, it enables to reduce that affect and more over to keep the communication conditions more clear and quality. Therefore NO barriers will be present for the signal sent from Base to H/S and vise versa. If the requirement is not mentioned during installation, it will be very difficult to overcome any all around berries, so it might cause low effectiveness of your communication.
   4. Booster. To be sure an Amplifier is working well, you can check it by the indicator on left side of the device. It flashes red while transmission and flashes green while standby.
   CLW-20 specially designed for Car-in applications power amplifier to enable Handset unit to enlarge its Output power to 20 W. Amplifier has several special features to put Car-in talking conditions in full effect. For instance, if the Car antenna, which connected to Handset unit through H/S unit is carelessly broken down, either cable is not working properly, or disconnected at all, the Amplifier will generate warning sound "wow ~ wow".
   5. REMEMBER. All connections should be screwed very tight. Please remember to check all of them while the system installation. Otherwise improperly screwed accessories cause power or signal transmission failure.
   
3. HOW? MANY devices can be placed at limited location and at the same time

As you know, our HT series phones have their distinctive feature of160 programmable and 8 - channel auto selectable function. For this point, please notice:

1. There are 20 Base units can be placed in one limited area.
2. NO frequency interference happens
3. Base units can be paired with each other: 2 Base expandability function

Example. In the case there are several Base units are simultaneously on use, majority of them comes with similar frequency channel group number, for instance 1008. The frequency channel group number can be indicated through the first four digits shown on the backside of each Base. The channel group No.1008 means: there are 8 auto-selectable channels presented. So every phone talk is going on one of these 8 channels. If a devise is on the talk mode, one of the 8 frequency channels is busy. So another device scans any free channel within the group No. 1008. It enables the system to escape frequency interference phenomenon within one group.

Therefore, if the group is filled out by 8 devices, the 9^th unit automatically starts to scan a free channel within the next channel group marked with the number 1016, and so on.

4. HOW? Choose exact accessories to get excellent communication range and talking quality. A clue to upgrade your communication range
   High quality products, supplied by Harvest Corp. guarantee their high technical capacities and expectable effectiveness. But there are several very important features should be described for the right choice of accessories to enjoy with the LRC communication.

1. Geographical conditions. Communication range indicated in catalogues and on the Web site is all 100% true data. It's proven by numerous tests and users' experience. But sometimes the talking distance differs from the specified figures. Be sure it is not the phones low quality or their operation failure. As well as radio cordless communication, it's tremendous influence of geographical conditions in the phones usage region. For instance, to compare desert, plain territory and big city with many multi-storied buildings or mountainous areas, HT telephones operation effectiveness would vary quite significantly: for plain terrain communication range of standard set (in percentage) could be in 10% through to 30% better than for mountainous area. To overcome such inconveniences, please read carefully the following information as given below. Remember to draw attention to those requirements when you chose the equipment
2. Accessories. Exact accessories are the clue to overcome mentioned above barriers of LRC communication. First of all HT phones (depend on the model) come with the different Output power measurement. The more the Output power, the more talking range, bigger and the signals are stronger. Of course, if the Output power of system is not enough to overcome the barriers or users would like to upgrade their devices for bigger communication range, Linear Power Amplifiers (Boosters) would be required here. For example, HT-4 (1.5W) and HT-3 Plus (3W) models upgrading their Output power to 6W with DLW-5 Booster.

In the case, it's not enough yet, there is a wide range of Optional accessories: Outdoor/ Indoor/ Car and Telescopic antennas, Coaxial cables and others.

Since buildings' walls and roofs or Cars' metallic roof have their big influence on the signal transmission. Simply to say, they directly reflect incoming and outgoing signals of HT system. To prevent that, Antennas are strongly recommended to put in use along with device set.

Correct geographical conditions evaluation + necessary number of accessories will bring you unlimited satisfaction of quality and powerful LRC communication.
 

5. HOW? To be sure your system is original "Harvest" brand name, "Made in Taiwan"
   Since tremendous popularity of different electronic and other consumer products all over the world there are big number of manufacturers experiencing troubles of their products' copying ¡V so called "products imitation". "Harvest" is well - known brand name, so sometimes in the market you can find imitation of HT phones instead of original, genuine articles. Please be careful, copied phones are:

• Low and unstable quality
• Low communication range and effectiveness
• Sophisticated colors
• Uncompleted accessories
• No "Made in Taiwan" sign on the boxes etc.

For the reason to prevent "Harvest" copying and to protect manufacturer rights, the illegal factories and copiers are persecuting under the international law regulations. Moreover, now to prove HT phones are genuine, please check LASER LABELS on system. Such label comes on all accessories and all devices produced in Taiwan. Here is a picture of the laser sticker too. The sticker can not be torn off, otherwise some scars will remain.

WHY? Your system is not working
There are many reasons can cause troubles of the HT system. Since Harvest guarantees the     quality of its products and checks every phone before shipment very carefully, majority of faults that happen with the HT cordless telephones are because of incorrect usage or installation. For correct installation procedure (illustrated), please refer to the HOW? part of this Web page.

1. Situation No.1 You found, Base unit is not working, no signal at all:

• check whether CO phone line is connected
• check if the plugged Adapter is correct. It can be indicated with the item number on the upper side of Adapter. For reference, here below is a list of Adapters' item numbers and their other technical features:

• check if all connections of the whole system are screwed well
• check whether your devices are original "Harvest": seek for a laser label

9. Situation No.2 You found, Handset unit is not working at all.

• frequent reason of such situation is item's inner structure was burned out because of fault charging: incorrect Adapter plugged for Desktop charger. For reference is a list of Adapters' item numbers and their other technical features:

• check whether the battery is attached tightly
• check if a handset antenna is screwed into, otherwise it might cause H/S troubles while signal transmission
• check if handset battery was fully charged before operation: push FCN + 4

10. Situation No. 3 You found, Linear Amplifier is not working.

• frequent reason of such situation is item's inner structure was burned out because of fault charging: incorrect Adapter plugged for Desktop charger. For reference is a list of Adapters' item numbers and their other technical features:

• check if the LED power indicator flashes green in working mode and flashes red in standby mode. When green and red light are blinking alternately, it means the SWR is too high
• check if the connections of Boosters to Base units are screwed well
• check whether the power supply at your area has a stable current

Harvest Corp. as manufacturer does not take responsibility for the system failure caused by:

• incorrect installation, charging and operation procedures
• if Adapters for charging and equipment for operation were NOT original "Harvest" or "Denpa" Brand name articles
• if electricity system is not stable with frequent power failure

11. REMEMBER. About adapters

    1/ All adapters used for HT series devices must be original "Denpa" brand name items. Since there are many mistaken suggestions that power supplies (adapters) with the same technical specifications as well as original are good for "Harvest" equipment, so they are causing numerous headaches for users and damages for the phones. "Adapter" is one of the most important parts of long - range cordless phones to reach their highest level of communication effectiveness. Specially designed adapters enable HT series phones to put their technical capacities into excellent effect. For instance, a built - in circuit filter etc.
    2/ Unsteady power supplies (voltage current). As in some countries, unsteadiness of power supply is another reason of damages. Sudden and big range voltage shortage brings devices to inner destruction or to other unexpected construction faults.
    3/ Voltage spectrum. Low communication effect of HT series phones in 95% cases is not because of their quality, but, in some cases, because of voltage spectrum difference. For the power adapters, we used standard range only-110V and 220V.
    Therefore for excellent communication distance, it's very important the voltage level must not be lower 110V or 220V, but ok if it's exceeding the standards.

12. REMEMBER. About Antennas.

    All antennas (Handset, Indoor, Outdoor & Car) used for HT series devices must be original "Denpa" brand name items. Because of mistaken suggestions that antennas with the same technical specifications as well as original are good for "Harvest" equipment, so that causes numerous headaches for users and damages for the phones. Please notice that Antennas were specially designed and adjusted to frequency spectrum of HT telephones. It means, if VSWR is over the initial level of an antenna, that can make the transmitted signal return back to Base unit and damage it, even to burn out the whole circuit.

13. WHY? Your system unable to perform considerable communication range

    The answer is simple: for expected talking distance should be used suitable accessories. How to choose them correctly and evaluate communication conditions, as terrain geographical features etc., please refer to HOW? Choose exact accessories to get excellent communication range and talking quality.

14. WHY? The phone system is not working. Other reasons:
    Water and dust: please notice as well as any other electronic high - technology product, HT phones should be constantly and carefully maintained. You should pay special attention to dust, water, etc., which are getting into the phones and causing serious problems of their inner structure. It might cause a circumstance of the circuit is broken or other unusual operation defaults.
    To prevent the shown problems, it is strongly recommended to use Handset unit carefully packed with a leather case.
